Biological Recording - an introduction

Biological Recording - an introduction
Making good records, collecting voucher specimens, and getting involved with recording schemes near you With Sarah Whild, Wednesday, 25th October 2017, The Gateway, Shrewsbury This one day workshop will provide an introduction to making ‘biological records’ – the accepted format for wildlife observations. We will look at the schemes and societies involved, we will make some records, learn how to make accurate and precise grid references, and how to submit our records to the right people and organisations so they are used for conservation and research. We will also look at how to make voucher specimens of various types, from moss and liverwort packets, herbarium sheets, invertebrate vouchers, and other types of evidence of your sightings.
Suitable for independent wildlife surveyors, wildlife trust volunteers, junior ecologists. ID skills not necessary.
